A big man and former pro wrestler. He has little patience for leaving complicated things complicated—if he doesn't understand something, he asks; if it's funny, he laughs. At Aoi, he's usually the one who gets the conversation started.
Taka, a former professional wrestler and one of Aoi's most noticeable regulars, thanks to his size and easygoing nature. He brings in things he's found on his phone or questions that have caught his attention, pulling Kenichi and Tom into the conversation. He isn't the one who makes complicated arguments. But his simple questions have a habit of landing surprisingly close to the heart of the matter.
More things work out than people think. If you don't know, ask. If you mess up, deal with it then. Taka puts more faith in taking the first step than in having every argument worked out beforehand.
Fun. Clarity. Doing things with other people. And seeing the person in front of him before their title or the complicated words surrounding them. When someone is genuinely trying, his first instinct is usually to root for them.
Cheerful, sociable, and endlessly curious. What crosses his mind tends to come straight out of his mouth. He has a talent for finding odd articles on his phone and bringing them to Aoi. Complicated words can lose him, but he rarely pretends to understand. His English isn't great either, so enthusiasm sometimes has to do the work. He still has a wrestler's build, though his gestures can be surprisingly light.
His phone — the source of many conversations at Aoi. Edamame — something his hand seems to find while he's talking. A highball — an uncomplicated drink for an uncomplicated evening. A wrestler's body — not exactly an object, but even years away from the ring haven't erased the way that life still shows in how he stands and moves.
